Pharmacy (Rx) Division

Pharmacy financial and business advisory

The medication is clinical. The business behind it is financial, operational, and strategic.

Independent and specialty pharmacies are filling prescriptions at a loss and often cannot say which ones. Reimbursement below acquisition cost, effective rates that bear no resemblance to the contracted rate, inventory tying up cash that should be working, and rejections nobody worked before the window closed. It rarely presents as a crisis. It presents as a business that is busy, growing, and quietly not making money.

I examine how payer contracts, acquisition costs, billing, inventory, staffing, technology, and management decisions affect one another then quantify what each is costing and build the path forward.

Boundaries, stated plainly

This is business, financial, and operational work. I do not dispense, verify prescriptions, counsel patients, perform drug utilization review requiring pharmacist judgment, make clinical or formulary decisions, authorize refills, compound, administer immunizations, or act as pharmacist-in-charge. Any workflow touching medication verification, dispensing, counseling, or clinical judgment is approved by the pharmacist-in-charge. I do not issue accreditation, guarantee approval, or provide legal determinations of compliance.

State pharmacy licensing, ownership, and pharmacist-in-charge requirements are determined by the applicable board of pharmacy and counsel never by this firm.
