The general terms under which engagements are conducted. Specific terms are set in each written engagement agreement.
Scope and changes
Each engagement is defined by a written engagement agreement that specifies the scope of work, deliverables, and timeline. Changes to scope are handled by written amendment. Work outside the original scope is quoted separately and requires written approval before it begins.
Fees and invoicing
Fees are set in the engagement agreement. Fixed-fee engagements are quoted before work begins. Contingency engagements are priced as a percentage of recovered dollars, set in writing before work begins. Monthly engagements are invoiced in advance. Hourly engagements are invoiced monthly with time records. Payment terms are specified in the engagement agreement.
Client responsibilities
The client is responsible for providing accurate and complete information, timely access to systems and records, and the decisions required to move the work forward. Delays caused by incomplete or inaccurate information may affect timelines and fees.
Mutual confidentiality
Both parties maintain confidentiality of information shared during the engagement. The specific protections and limitations are described on the Client Confidentiality page.
Work product ownership
Work product prepared for the client reports, financial statements, filings is delivered to the client. Tools, templates, and methodologies remain the property of LibertyTax Senior Accountant and Strategic CFO Advisor, LLC.
Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement with written notice. Fees for work completed through the termination date are due and payable. Prepaid fees for work not yet performed are refunded on a pro-rata basis, except for tax preparation where work has begun (see the payment authorization terms).
No guaranteed outcome
No engagement guarantees a specific outcome. Credentialing, enrollment, reimbursement, refund, and acceptance outcomes are determined by the applicable payer, agency, or taxing authority. Results depend on the client's circumstances, the accuracy of information provided, and external conditions.
Conflict disclosure
The client is informed of any actual or potential conflict of interest that arises during an engagement. Conflicts are addressed in writing, and the client may choose to continue or terminate the engagement.
