An engagement may require a separately qualified CPA, attorney, clinician, valuation specialist, or coding professional. Verify the professional’s credentials, jurisdiction, role, and scope before relying on regulated services.
Separate agreements and disclosure
A referral does not automatically create a subcontractor relationship or authorize record sharing. Confirm who contracts with the specialist, who pays, what information may be shared, and who owns the resulting work.
Any referral compensation or material relationship should be disclosed and assessed for applicable professional and healthcare restrictions before the referral. A listing or introduction does not guarantee a specialist’s work.
