FAQ
Every question from every page, aggregated into one heavily marked-up hub, grouped by topic. Dense, structured, and answering questions in the exact form people ask them.
Getting started
Do you work with practices outside South Carolina?
Yes, nationwide. Billing, credentialing, and financial work are delivered remotely in all fifty states.
How do engagements start?
With an assessment. I do not quote ongoing work before understanding the situation.
How fast can you start?
Usually within a week of a signed Business Associate Agreement and system access.
Healthcare revenue cycle
What does billing cost?
Typically 4–8% of collections depending on volume, specialty, and claim complexity, or flat monthly for small practices.
Do I have to switch billing software?
No. I work in your existing system.
How does denial recovery pricing work?
Contingency a percentage of what I actually recover, set in writing before work begins. No recovery, no fee.
How long does Medicare credentialing take?
Typically 60–90 days from a clean application.
Can I bill while credentialing is pending?
Generally no. Some payers permit retroactive effective dates; most do not.
Tax
Are you a CPA?
No. I hold an MBA and 23 years of healthcare finance experience. Attest, audit, review, and tax filing work is performed by licensed CPAs I engage.
Do you file state returns?
Federal returns nationwide. State returns in states where I hold the required registration. I will tell you plainly if yours is one where I am not yet registered.
Can you represent me before the IRS?
Representation is limited by credential. This firm does not represent taxpayers in collection matters or before the U.S. Tax Court. Where representation is needed, an enrolled agent, CPA, or tax attorney is engaged or the client is referred.
How do you exchange tax documents?
Only through a secure client portal never by email or through website forms.
Pricing and payment
What does an assessment cost?
$2,500 for practices under three providers, up to $5,000 for larger groups. Fixed fee, no ongoing commitment.
What don't you charge for?
The initial scoping call, answering a question about a return or report I prepared, and copies of your own documents.
How does payment work for tax preparation?
Payment is collected through Stripe Checkout. Card data never reaches this site or server. No refund is issued once work begins.
Security and confidentiality
Is my data protected?
A Business Associate Agreement is executed before any PHI access. Taxpayer data is protected under a Written Information Security Plan maintained under the FTC Safeguards Rule and IRS Publication 4557.
Is our communication privileged?
Confidentiality is contractual, not privileged. Unlike attorney communications, information shared with a consultant is generally discoverable. See the Client Confidentiality page.
What insurance do you carry?
$2M professional liability, $2M general liability, and $2M cyber liability.
Credentials and scope
Are you a CPA?
No. This is not a CPA firm. I do not perform attest, audit, review, or compilation services. Those are performed by licensed CPAs I engage.
Do you provide legal advice?
No. Where legal advice, entity formation, or statutory interpretation is required, an attorney is engaged directly by the client.
Do you make clinical determinations?
No. Clinical quality determinations and patient safety judgments remain with appropriately licensed clinical leadership.
Start with an assessment, not a contract
Two weeks, fixed fee, $2,500 to $5,000 depending on practice size. You get a written finding: where the money is going, what each leak is worth annually, and what it costs to fix. You own that report whether or not you hire me for anything after it.
