Advisory · Organizational
When an organization has good people and poor results, the problem is usually structural. Unclear roles, work that lives in the wrong place, handoffs nobody owns, decisions that stall because no one knows who makes them. I assess how the organization actually functions rather than how the org chart says it does, then rebuild roles, workflow, accountability, and reporting so the structure supports the work instead of fighting it. This includes board and governance support for nonprofits and organizations with formal oversight.
What I work on
- Workforce planning and staffing assessments
- Job descriptions, roles, and accountability structures
- Organizational design and reporting lines
- Workflow mapping and redesign
- Standard operating procedures and documentation
- Performance measures and management reporting
- Onboarding and staff development structures
- Board dashboards, KPI selection, committee structures, and board education
- Corrective action tracking and implementation oversight
Board and governance work
Boards frequently receive information they cannot act on. I help boards define what they should be looking at, build reporting that answers governance questions rather than operational ones, and educate trustees on healthcare and financial fundamentals. Clinical quality determinations remain with appropriately licensed clinical leadership.
Boundaries
Employment decisions, disciplinary action, and interpretation of employment law are legal matters. I build structure; you engage an attorney directly for employment law.
Start with an assessment
Every advisory engagement begins by finding what is actually wrong, quantifying it, and building the structure to fix it.
